Kicking Off 40 with Gratitude and Glitter

As I reflect on turning 40, I feel this deep mix of gratitude, joy, and a sparkly sense of excitement about what’s next. There’s something uniquely magical about stepping into this new decade—especially as a mom of three, a wife, and a small business owner here in the Bay Area. These roles have shaped me in the best (and sometimes wildest!) ways. And now, I’m not just celebrating where I’ve been, I’m dreaming big about what’s still to come.

A Season of Reflection and Growth

Turning 40 feels like standing in the sunshine after a long, beautiful hike. You stop, look back at how far you’ve come, and soak it all in. The sleepless baby years, the morning school chaos, the messy, marvelous everyday moments—every step got me here.

Motherhood has stretched me in the most unexpected ways. My kids, with their wild imaginations and endless energy, keep me on my toes and in my heart. They remind me to be present, to stay curious, and to keep chasing dreams—even in yoga pants and yesterday’s mascara.

The Power of Partnership

Marriage is its own kind of adventure. My husband and I have grown together through all the highs and lows. We’ve figured out how to stay connected when life gets busy, how to laugh when things go sideways, and how to keep showing up for each other. Whether we’re tag-teaming bedtime or planning a weekend away, I’m endlessly grateful for the life we’re building side by side.

A Toast to Success

Turning 40 has also given me a fresh perspective on my work. Running a business while raising a family? Whew. It’s been a whirlwind—but one I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’ve built something that matters to me, and it lights me up in ways I never expected.

This decade feels like the perfect moment to realign and get intentional. I’m proud of the business I’ve grown and excited to keep evolving—maybe that means trying new things, stretching creatively, or simply giving myself more grace along the way. However it looks, I’m here for it.

A New Perspective on Life

Let’s talk about self-care. Not the buzzwordy kind, but the real stuff. I’m learning to protect my energy, to rest when I need it, and to make space for joy—no guilt attached. Whether it’s solo coffee runs, dance parties in the kitchen, or long walks with a good playlist, I’m finding little ways to fill my own cup.

Because when I’m taking care of me, I show up better for everything else. And that balance? That’s what I’m working on.

Celebrating the Journey Ahead

To kick off this new decade, I finally took the trip I’ve been dreaming about forever. I celebrated 40 with a magical adventure through Italy—starting in Florence and then soaking up the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. It was everything I needed and more. I can’t wait to share all the photos, stories, and travel tips soon here on Pins and Petals.

So here’s to 40. To laughter, love, learning. To reinvention, reflection, and chasing the kind of joy that makes your cheeks hurt from smiling. And of course, to champagne and French fries—because some things will always be worth celebrating.

Thanks for being here. I can’t wait for everything this next chapter has in store. Let’s keep dreaming, exploring, and showing up with full hearts.
