Evan and Brian approached their wedding weekend with intention — choosing to separate the meaningful from the celebratory. By hosting an intimate ceremony at San Francisco City Hall the day before, they gave themselves the freedom to fully relax into their reception day — focusing on photos, their guests, and a celebration that felt completely true to them.
From thoughtful personal details to a packed dance floor led by an incredible band, their wedding was equal parts heartfelt and high-energy.
Evan and Brian wanted a wedding that reflected who they are — fun, thoughtful, and a little unexpected. With a shared love of video games, great music, and gathering their people, they focused on creating an experience that felt relaxed but intentional.
Their vision struck a balance between masculine and modern, softened with subtle touches of color to keep the design approachable and warm.
Their reception took place at Almanac Beer Co., a waterfront brewery in Alameda known for its industrial architecture and laid-back, coastal energy.
With concrete textures, open space, and clean lines, the venue provided the perfect canvas for a modern celebration. Its proximity to the water and naturally cool aesthetic made it feel effortless while still incredibly unique.
The design leaned into a modern, slightly masculine palette, softened with touches of pinks and greenery. We wanted to complement the industrial setting rather than compete with it — bringing in just enough color and florals to warm the space while still honoring the venue’s natural vibe.
To maximize the open layout of the brewery, we opted for casual seating arrangements, allowing guests to move freely and interact throughout the evening. Pops of color came through linens and florals, softening the industrial backdrop and adding a layer of warmth to the space.
The mix of greens and soft pinks created a look that felt modern yet approachable — a perfect reflection of the grooms.
Evan and Brian subtly wove in their love of video games throughout the celebration, adding personality without overpowering the overall design.
The biggest priority? The band — and it did not disappoint. From the moment guests arrived, the energy was high and the dance floor stayed full all night.
Instead of a traditional plated dinner, guests enjoyed interactive food stations featuring a variety of cuisines — a fun and engaging way to reflect the couple’s tastes and keep the evening dynamic.
Dessert was equally playful, with sweet treats that felt approachable and crowd-pleasing, perfectly matching the overall vibe of the celebration.
The celebration began with an intimate ceremony at San Francisco City Hall, where close friends and family gathered to witness Evan and Brian officially tie the knot. The following day, the focus shifted entirely to celebration — portraits, time with loved ones, and a reception at Almanac Beer Co. that flowed effortlessly from mingling to dining to a high-energy dance party led by an incredible live band.
Evan and Brian’s wedding was a reminder that your celebration doesn’t have to follow tradition to feel meaningful. By separating their ceremony and reception, they created space for both intimacy and celebration — and the result was a weekend that felt intentional, joyful, and completely their own.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels modern, personal, and a little outside the box, we’d love to help you bring it to life.
