When Christina and Craig envisioned their dream wedding, they didn’t envision a grand ballroom or a sprawling estate. Instead, they longed for the warm embrace of an intimate celebration nestled within the charming confines of a San Jose backyard. They opted for a rustic boho backyard wedding design that would unfold in the home of Christina’s mom. It was the perfect canvas for this intimate wedding with the right amount of warmth and coziness. We were determined to weave that charming essence into every aspect of their special day. From the first glance, we knew this rustic boho backyard wedding would be nothing short of magical.

The Garden of Love: Their Rustic Boho Wedding Vision Comes to Life
The rustic boho wedding theme was more than just a style Christina and Craig wanted for their celebration; it was a design and aesthetic that deeply resonated with the vision they had for their special the day. To make sure we did it justice, we left no detail to chance. The home where this wedding took place had a lovely driveway and garage that we transformed into an intimate ceremony spot, where mismatched chairs awaited guests to take their seats. We gave the garage door a facelift by adding a chevron patterned wooden wall which we tucked behind a circular arch adorned with exquisite florals by H&J Florals that would stand behind Christina and Craig and frame them as they committed their love to one another. We added large tufts pampas grass to the arch to sway gently in the breeze and we also tucked them into charming galvanized buckets to line the aisle. An antique writing desk stood as a welcome table, greeting guests as they stepped into this inviting rustic boho wedding.
A Non-Traditional Rustic Boho Wedding Reception
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests wandered to the front yard for cocktails and appetizers. The Roadie Mobile Bar and its charm that perfectly fit this rustic boho wedding aesthetic served some lovely cocktails to begin the celebration. Meanwhile, a stunning grazing table by Charming Fig left everyone’s eyes and bellies happier than ever and hungry for more. It was the perfect start to the reception.
While guests were enjoying themselves at cocktail hour, our creativity was flourishing about as we transformed the ceremony space into a dynamic dancefloor. We let the garage door swing open and revealed The Hitmen Band, ready to serenade the night away. Rustic wooden farm tables, adorned with an eclectic mix of florals, candles, and potted succulents, awaited guests to dine and keep the party going. It was a sight to behold, a fusion of elegance and down-to-earth charm. It was exactly the rustic boho wedding chic ambiance that we worked so hard to provide for Christina and Craig.
The newlyweds shared their first meal as a married couple at a sweetheart table adorned with rattan peacock chairs, lovingly accented with florals by H&J Florals. For those who preferred a more relaxed setting, a deck area was transformed into a cozy lounge, complete with sofas, chairs, rugs, and pillows. Here, the ambiance was as warm as the love that filled the air.
Elegance in Every Detail: Unique Rustic Boho Wedding Ideas
Throughout the wedding, unique mirror signs added a touch of elegance. These thoughtful details not only guided guests but also reflected the love and style of Christina and Craig. Every glance in these mirrors represented the promise of a beautiful future together.
In a departure from the traditional wedding dinner, Christina and Craig opted for a delectable Mexican feast courtesy of La Santa Torta food truck via Taste of the World Market. Parked right in front of the house, it ensured that guests could savor their favorite dishes with ease. The air was filled with the delicious aromas of Mexican cuisine, enhancing the overall sensory experience for guests.
As the evening unfolded, the couple delighted their guests with a donut table. An alternative to the traditional wedding cake, it was a sweet success. The delightful sugar scent of freshly baked donuts wafted through the air as guests indulged in these sweet treats.
