Today’s post is about an event that was very special to me. It’s time to unravel all the details of my unforgettable 38th birthday champagne soirée, a night filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of champagne. As the pandemic restrictions eased, it was the perfect opportunity to gather my closest friends and celebrate in style. So, let’s rewind and relive the magic of this incredible event! Let the celebration begin!
Planning a birthday party for yourself can be an exciting yet overwhelming endeavor, but with the help of my wonderful husband and dear friend Jen, we crafted an evening that would leave a lasting impression on all who attended. Despite the torrential rain that had plagued the days leading up to the event, we remained determined to create a memorable experience at my very own home. Armed with our creativity and the support of my amazing vendor friends, we transformed my residence into a haven of celebration.

A Rainy Surprise
To shield our guests from the relentless rain, we strategically rented tents, adorned them with canopies, and added protective tarps to safeguard the party atmosphere. Little did we know that Mother Nature would test our resolve. As the night progressed, the wind and rain intensified, causing the canopies to collapse onto the bar. But true to the spirit of the occasion, my darling husband and his friends ingeniously used hockey sticks to prop up the canopies and ensure the party would continue without a hitch. It was a comical sight that added an unexpected element of adventure to the festivities.
Veuve-tastic Vibes
Now, let’s talk about the theme that permeated every aspect of the celebration—the Veuve theme. As an ardent admirer of Veuve champagne, both in its effervescent taste and its stunning color palette, it was only fitting to make it the centerpiece of the soirée. The venue glimmered alongside disco balls, infusing the party with a dazzling ambiance that radiated with vivacity and sparkles.
Since it was a cocktail party, we curated a delightful selection of three signature cocktails, each playfully named after yours truly. Of course, no Veuve-themed celebration would be complete without an ample supply of the renowned champagne itself. The bubbly flowed freely, ensuring that every guest’s glass remained joyfully filled throughout the evening.

One of the highlights of the evening was the delightful surprise my husband prepared. He constructed a captivating greenery wall with a whimsical “press for champagne” doorbell. As guests rang the bell, my daughter, hidden behind the wall, emerged with a glass of champagne for each person, adding a touch of enchantment to their entrance. It was a magical moment that brought smiles and laughter to everyone’s faces.
The Delicious Bites
Now, about the culinary delights that tantalized our taste buds… Our grazing table was an opulent display of culinary artistry. Overflowing with an abundance of delectable treats, it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Decadence was the order of the day, with luscious spoons of caviar nestled amidst the enticing array of gourmet delicacies. We also delighted in passed appetizers, including the freshest oysters on the half shell—a personal favorite of mine that elevated the entire experience.
No birthday celebration would be complete without a cake, but as a non-cake lover, I opted for something unique and utterly delicious. My friend Jen, the talented baker and owner of The Sweet Spot, created a masterpiece—a two-tier Rice Krispie cake (my favorite!) adorned with fresh fruit. The combination of gooey marshmallows and crispy cereal was a delightful departure from the traditional, and it quickly became the talk of the night.
Something Special for the Lovely Ladies
To express my gratitude for the incredible women who shared this special occasion with me, each female guest received a thoughtful party favor—an “MVP” bag. This clever acronym not only stood for Most Valuable Person but also cheekily represented “More Veuve Please.” Inside the bag, they discovered a delicate champagne flute cookie and a duo of beaded bracelets in elegant shades of gold, black, and white. It was a small token of appreciation that symbolized the cherished memories we created together.
Groovin' & Movin'
As the music filled the air, we made our way to the intimate dancefloor, where the rhythm and beats took hold of our souls. We danced all night long to my favorites from timeless classics like Michael Jackson’s “PYT” to soul-stirring melodies like Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and high-energy hits like Akon & Jeezy’s “Soul Survivor.” The eclectic mix of music catered to every guest’s musical preferences. The dance floor became a place of uninhibited joy, where we all let loose and created cherished memories.
As the night drew to a close, we bid farewell to the dancefloor but not to the memories we had forged. This 38th birthday soirée was a strong representation of the amazing people I choose to keep in my corner and was a truly everything I could have hoped for. Surrounded by my closest friends, we laughed, danced, and reveled in the sheer joy of being together. It was a night to remember, one that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
