April 7, 2020An Opulent Winter Wonderland Inspired Holiday Tablescape
From hot cocoa and sleigh rides to holly-berries and mistletoe and the perfectly set dinner table with every little detail, all of the traditional Holiday cheer is sure to bring a smile to your face year after year. This year, I wanted to improve on the traditional Holiday table so that it would be a better, more enhanced version of what you normally expect!
Though the traditional reds, greens, and gold were part of the inspiration, the true inspiration for this table came from the idea of incorporating black and darker tones of what one would normally expect. From crimson velvet ribbon, to the deep hunter green velvet table runner and the opulent chargers, every detail was taken into account to make this a beautiful and dramatic winter table design.
The table linen – a warm cream and metallic print provided by Pleasanton Event Rentals – draped on the table prepared for an intimate dinner, with the rich hunter green velvet runner delicately draped down the length of the table, puddling on the floor beneath it. Possibly the most dramatic aspect and definitely the least expected on a traditional Holiday table are the feather chargers that sat underneath each guests place settings. The black and white speckled feathers making up the round charger made for a beautiful and unique touch to the table. Sitting on top of the feather chargers were metallic gold and white plates with a geometric pattern around the thick band with a salad plate in white with just a gold metallic rim sitting on top of it. Each place setting was completed with gold flatware and elegant crystal glasses with a gold rim, tying them into the china pattern.
With assigned seats, each place setting held a miniature twig wreath with bleached fern, fresh greenery, and delicate little blooms enhancing it thanks to the detailed work of Jennifer with Busy Bees Floral Design. Each guest had a name tag laser cut out of birch wood with a beautiful crimson silk velvet ribbon, by Party Crush Studio, tied onto each name tag on the guests first initial. The miniature wreaths tied in perfectly with the stunning floral that Jennifer created, with the vision of a Winter Wonderland.Â
Jennifer’s flower arrangements were both opulent and yet simple at the same time. With the gorgeous white and black anemones to the freshly picked greenery and the stunning white roses and the super fragrant large gardenias, it was important for the tables overall design and a striking look that the arrangements not have any red flowers. The flowers were designed to be a combination of a large centerpiece and smaller arrangements accompanying it and paired with a great variety of candles. Adding some pops of unique elements, the table was enhanced with star shaped candle holders in brass and glass along with vintage brass candle holders holding burgundy and dark sage green taper candles, and small birch log votive candles scattered around the table.Â
Every wonderful detail of our Holiday table was captured by the truly amazing Kate from Blush House Photography. She was able to show the warmth of the setting and every aspect of the table that made it so special!
Setting a Holiday table is such a special moment, marking the start of some truly wonderful and memorable times spent with family and friends. With every detail on this beautiful and elegant table, your guests are sure to feel the Holiday spirit while enjoying their special time.
